Reception in Cornwall, England (June 24, 2011)

Hi there everybody!

I am on holiday for a few days in the south-west of England in Cornwall. We are staying in a hotel by the sea but I have brought a radio with me and a few metres of wire. Last night I heard a few stations on MW. With the Lowe HF225 this is what I heard. Times are UTC:

1640 2200 Relmus
1655 2215 Kristal
1647 2225 Zeewolf
1634 2230 Vrolijke Mijnwerker

Best signal of all was the Happy Miner

Relmus and Kristal were both coming through no problem

Very interesting indeed to hear Zeewolf. The temporary antenna here was very poor and part of the wire was indoors, so to hear a station with low power was a real surprise. The signal was not great, but on the peaks it was possible to understand the IDs. Congratulations Mr Wolf!

On June 23, Moonlight was coming in strongly here on 1629.

I am at this location for a few more days and will post details of any more stations I can hear. When this holiday is over, I am taking another holiday in Holland, so I look forward to meeting lots of pirates very soon!

Thank you very much for the nice report and the pleasant chat during the broadcast.
