A pirate station from Denmark says hello..
Hi here I'm new in the forum and I hope I write on the right place/folder .
A bit about myself:
I working with a little medium wave AM radio station on only 10 Watt on the frequens 1611 kHz. The station is placed near the town Hillerød about 40 km. north of copenhagen.
My station is a modified version of an AMT3000, an liniar 10 Watts PEP driver and a liniar PA on 60 Watt PEP. My antenna is a dipole with coils. My plan is to 'step-up' to 100 Watt with a new 500 Watt PEP liniar PA in this summer.
My first pirate transmitter was on the FM-band with about 25 Watt via an QQE03/12, it was back in 1964.
You can read more about me and the project here:

You are welcome by us!
Hopefully you can read our articles on this AM Forum.
But today you can translate it easy & quickly...
And perhaps.... we can hear you in the future on mediumwave.
If, important!, the freq. 1611 is free to hear you in The Netherlands!
Greetings,

Hello Ole,
Welcome here and I hope to receive your signal!
Must be possible in the evening times.
Would be great to make a QSO with a Danish pirate station on medium wave.

Hi Again and thank's for welcome to you all .
@ Pacman:
You write.. ' the freq. 1611 is free to hear you in The Netherlands!'.. Yes and no.. Because, I'm a bit confused about the Dutch pirates frequencies and broadcast times. Last night (about 23:00) there was a very strong one at 1610 kHz. (okay.. 1611 is not 1610, buut ) So powerful that I am here in Denmark could hear him very clearly in the middle of my living room on a handheld transistor radio on a 'rod antenna', so 5 and 9 to him .
I will come back when I have news about my new PA (in another folder of course).
Regards Ole Pirat .

Thanks for your AM info from Denmark.
Most of the Dutch pirates between 1611 - 1686 khz using not the same freq.
Often they 'change' their frequency...
For example, today 1625 and maybe tomorrow on 1655 khz.
Except some mw pirates between 1350 - 1593 khz.
For example, Radio 0511; during many years on the same freq. 1503 khz.
When you hear clearly again a mw pirate in your living room...
Make, if you can, a little recording and 'put it' on this Forum.
I am sure, when you recording his voice, someone can tell who you heard.
Greetings,

Re: A pirate station from Denmark says hello..
Welcome to the band, Ole !
Very nice to hear from Denmark, and even with an rf-signal !
Reverting to what I was reading, I would suggest: go higher into frequency, because 1611 is too nearby radio Waddenzee, for the amateurs from Friesland, and, as you might have experienced, the "lower"freqs in the 180 mtr-band, are mostly occupied, I guess, when using for instance 1675, you have better chances with low power, providing, you familiarize yourself with the transmission-times from: Swedish Coastal Radio, at 1674, Malin-Head Coastguard-Radio(Ireland)1677, and Machichaco Radio Spain, at 1677.
In between of them, there is plenty of time in the evening-hours !
In case you want those particulars, send me a mail !, or a PB

Re: A pirate station from Denmark says hello..
Hi Again ..
@ orionwest and thanks for welcome:
Yes okay i see the problem, but here in Denmark 1611 is normally a 'peaceful' frequency except if a 'BIG Dutch man' is on the same frequency. Sometimes the sideband from 1602 can give problems if there are good conditions on a day.
The main problem is, a 'normal' MW radio can't receive this higher frequency without a special 'ajustment' of the receiver and many of our listeners will be lost. Here we talk about max 1616 kHz. So ..
@ Pacman:
I have try to insert a 'sound-clip' here, but I don't sure how I do that on the best way ?
Regards Ole Pirat .
